So I leave the previous forum and am not a regular contributor on this one, but I seem to recall we had a lot of NBA posters in the past. I leave and you guys just let this part of the forum die. So to try and get this fired back up let's hear your MVP pick for this season and why.
Honest picks are Lebron, Kawhi, Harden, and Westbrook. You may be able to make a case for some other people, but let's be real: It will come down to one of the four I listed.
In my opinion it is going to be real close but Harden will come out the pile with the hardware. He isn't on a super team like Lebron and yet gets wins to where they are a top 5 team in the NBA. Westbrook's season is incredible averaging a triple double, but he simply isn't winning enough. Its like the NFL with the MVP and Offensive Player of the Year awards....Harden would be MVP while Westbrook would be the Offensive Player of the Year for his stats.
Kawhi may actually be the most valuable player, but I think he loses votes because of the Pop super system and the overall depth of that team.
Lebron is Lebron of course but it is really difficult in my mind for him to win this as just like any Warriors player he resides on a bonafide superteam and also is doing the resting thing over and over. Harden and Westbrook are every game players while monster stat'n it up. Lebron and company seem to be resting every other weekend and I think that pulls some votes from him.
So my order is like this:
1. Harden
2. Kawhi
3. Lebron
4. Westbrook
Stats are important but wins count even more in my opinion. If you are a 6 seed or lower in a conference I just simply can't fathom handing you MVP votes. Just my opinion...
