Did anyone get one of these for Xmas? If so, how do you like it?
I've been trying to find one in my area, but no luck. No one has them in stock.

They're too pricey IMO. Affordable compared to a Vive or Oculus Rift but still a kick in the wallet when it costs more than the PS4 itself.

I've played the PS4 VR and the Vive. I have a rich friend that has both. I'm not sure how good of a gaming PC you need for the Vive as he has a top of the line rig. I think the headset itself is about $800. Next big check I get, I'm getting one, I think. The PS4 VR isn't really shit compared to the Vive but it's a lot cheaper to buy the $500 PS4 headset and a PS4 than it is to buy a top level gaming rig and a $800 headset. If you have the money though, and I'm pretty sure you do, get the Vive. It's head and shoulders above the PS4 VR. You're probably talking about $1,500 if you don't already have a good gaming PC.
EDIT: My buddy saw some game for the Oculus Rift that's exclusive to it so he's talking about picking one of those up. I'll probably know how it compares to the other two within a couple of weeks.

I'll check that that. I just got a new pc and its probably good enough. Its 4k graphic and a bunch of other shit I have no idea about.
I'll also have to see what kind of games are out there. I think Resident evil would be sick on a VR.
I'm in Fayetteville AR now, Tomorrow I'll check out my brother inlaws ps4 vr

Oh Shit. They are making a Fallout 4 for the Vive VR
Outside of that. I haven't seen many games for it. They only other thing I'm not crazy about. I've never really used my pc as a gaming system, so I have no idea how pc games compare to console games. You have to download the games or stream the games? If its streaming, I'm out. My internet sucks (AT&T) and where I'm at I have no other choice.
I'm going to keep looking into the Vive. But seeing that it will have Fallout 4. I might have to buy it just for that LOL

Welp, I can't find the ps4 VR so as I'm sitting here at the airport. I called a gamespot and they have a HTC Vive Vr in stock. The employee that is picking me up at the airport. He has a company card, so I sending him to the store to pick it up for me. So when I get home I'll have the HTC Vive. I was just reading some reviews online about the Vive. They all say its the best out there.
I can't wait to try it out tonight.
I'll let you know how it is. I was very impressed with the ps4 vr lastnight, so I'm really looking forward to trying the Vive. It would be great if they could get the resident evil game for the vive.
1st game I'll probably buy is Arizona sun or something like that. Zombie game.

The best thing about VR tech currently, it is fracturing and draining development companies and is gonna wind up reinvigorating the gaming market with all the new companies that are gonna pop up in the rubble.

Well I bought the HTC Vive. So far not that impressed, I don't see it being much better then the PS4 VR. At least with the ps4 you just click on a game you want to play and it plays it. I can't seem to navigate through this thing. WTF.. handsets been charging for about 3 hours and still doesn't have enough charge to have them unplugged. Not all games are stored in the same place. Come on why the fuck would you do that? You can buy some games from inside the vr, but then other games you can't. There is no search, You just gave to keep scrolling through everything.
It took me 30 minutes just to learn how to turn the fucking thing on. Why don't they give directions. I found it by mistake.
I was just trying to play a game. You have to reach out and hit the elevator button. 1st thing you have to do. Well since my handsets weren't charged. I couldn't reach the button. LOL come on, that's just dumb.
You have to download the games. I can only have AT&T internet. Its slow as shit. I started downloading a game about 15 minutes ago. Its 5.5 gibs. Its at 2%. So at this rate. It might be installed by this time tomorrow.
So far, Frustrating....

The game downloaded. I was able to get the handsets to sync. Was able to get Arizona Sunrise to open.
Badass game. Really like it so far, though I'm knocking shit off my desk as I'm trying to play LOL
It going to take some getting use to playing this kind of game.
Was able to learn how to turn off the VR.
My IT guy said the graphics card that in my computer was really good. I think I need a better one. The picture was getting choppy.

The game system is getting better. I'm starting to figure out alittle more each time. My new computer, didn't have a graphic card that was good enough for Vive. So my computer guy is on his way to my house now to put in a better then required graphics card.
Getting use to moving around in it. I really need to move my desk LOL I keep knocking stuff off of it or I'm walking into it.
Downloaded a few more games. I hope they are good.
I was pissed cause the resident evil game demo won't work for the VR, It will only play on the computer. Who wants that when you have VR?

Fallout 4 on the HTC Vive by June? I want one... Get the vive now and start figuring it out. It takes abit to get use to the movements.
Its not as easy as the PS4 vr to set up and play. Make sure you have a full gaming computer. The graphics card I had to get was almost $400.
I think this VR stuff is just the beginning. I'm sure they are going to have many great games. It changes games completely. I've only been playing for a few hours, but man its so much fun. There is still plenty of room for improvements.

I'm just thinking Fallout 4 would be worth the price of admission alone. Because I'm already familiar with the lay of the land and everything. Might suck not being able to take advantage of glitches and make my guy super powered, but maybe Bethesda stays Bethesda and have glitches all over the place that can be taken advantage of before they patch them....A gamble worth taking.

Fallout is going to be sweet. I can only imagine looking at a deathclaw up close. But games that I don't play, like call of duty. That would be insane on VR. Red dead redemption would be nice. You have to play VR. It will change how you think about playing games. I think it is the future of gaming.
Oh make sure you have a good size room. You'll need a area 6' x 6'.

People are complaining the Fallout VR is what pushed the new Elder Scrolls game behind schedule yet seem to be ignoring the fact that they said that there is no schedule for a new Elder Scroll game because they focusing development into ESO and letting the new ES develop as it does.

Solid thread - was just looking into this myself. The PS4 VR is easier since the kids have PS4s already and I am not sure my desktop is capable of running VIVE.
Jackel - PS4 VR has a job simulator game. Try it and one day you may actually get a job and be able to afford this kind of stuff/.

Ok then new graphics card was installed. Holy shit what a difference. Arizona Sunshine is a great zombie game. Tony and Ocmmafan, you guys have the money. Go get a desktop that can support it and buy the Vive. There is some things I'm still not crazy about. But the game play is so good. The vive will still have many of the games Ps4 VR will have plus others.
Or get the kids the PS4 one and you get the Vive for yourselfs lol
I just played for like 4 straight hours. It does make you feel funny after you take the head set off. Even typing this doesn't feel right. Its almost like I'm still playing the game.

For those that want to sit back and relax in their virtual worlds without losing immersion should take a look at Roto VR, a virtual reality chair compatible with Oculus Rift, PlayStation VR, HTC Vive, Samsung Gear VR, OSVR and even Google Cardboard. The headset plugs into a port at the bottom of the base, removing the issue of turning 360 degrees in VR and getting tangled in cables – but that’s not what’s impressive. The chair features base and foot pedals with an internal motor and orientation tracking – but what does that mean to you and us? Essentially, it features foot pedals that let you run and walk in-game sat down in a comfy chair, and head tracking that will rotate the chair 360 degrees depending on where you look. It seems like a great accessory for VR and should help solve the issue of traversing in a VR environment, and also the ability to use VR for extended periods of time without getting tired. Price: $499 from Roto Release date: August 2016

I beat Arizona Sunshine lastnight. Very fun game, I don't normally play games again after I beat them. But I think I'll play this game again.
One issue with the VR games, they are short. This one took a few hours to beat. I'm guessing the games will get longer and more detailed as they make them. Most of the games that are out are either shooting up aliens or zombies or they are "scary" games. I can't wait for the bigger titles to start coming out. I played the demo for Resident evil. Oh that is going to be badass.
So again, If you have the money. Go ahead and get the Vive. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Some are really good and others not so much. One issue that I'm seeing with the Vive. While there are a lot of games almost all of them are about the size of demo's. And there is a lot of new companies making games and some of these new companies aren't that good lol.
Resident evil demo was very good for the psvr, Arizona Sunshine was great for the HTC vive.
Google earth got really good reviews, I downloaded it. Wasn't impressed. All the buildings looked like paper mache.
Oh that's another thing. The reviews that some people give. They must work for the company that made the game LOL

Google is promoting people to use Sketchup to do realistic rendering and models of the buildings. If you google around I'm sure you can find some neighborhoods where people have uploaded the models for most of the area.
