Yeah but a fighter fucking themselves over might kill them. It's just not worth it to make a point. I do like the monitoring of it for a couple weeks prior to the fight. That could actually work. Joe Rogan was suggesting something similar on his podcast the other week. I actually don't completely hate it. I just think you do that, then (like you said) you have a certain percentage they can lose but you just keep the weigh in at the same time as always, don't fuck with the guy the day of, just let him rehydrate. I don't even like them banning IV rehydration. It's the most effective way to do it and I like to see guys as healthy as they can be in there. Fuck a drained as Hendricks, you know? Get his fatass in there hydrated and ready to go. I have no problem with them killing themselves for being idiots. Too many people have a job and not care about doing it right, they want to fuck it up, they don't deserve it. We have weight classes or we don't, not this in-between thing we have now which isn't healthy to begin with. It may not kill them now but could fuck them up later. At least my solution leads to, long term health, less cancelled fights, less question about ability, and more exciting fights.

Yeah, fuck the idiot. I get you... but that could still fuck the entire sport, you know?

Yeah, fuck the idiot. I get you... but that could still fuck the entire sport, you know? No, because it is here to stay, and changing the weight rules to my idea would actually preserve it because would give less reason for crazy people to outlaw the sport because it results in greater long-term safety.

i don't understand why they banned IV re-hydration. To discourage fighters from cutting so much water.

i understand the theory of why, but i think if you would have asked the fighters before the ban "will you cut less water if you can't use an IV afterwards?" they would've said no. i also think if you ask fighters now "do you cut less water since the IV ban?" they would also say no. if that is truly the reason why they banned them, it was incredibly stupid and naive. if they want to do something to try and limit weight cutting, you have to look at something way more comprehensive than just the IV's. also, how do they enforce this IV ban? fighter's honor?

Weight cutting in general is a joke.
The whole idea of weight classes is a joke.
Weigh-ins are a joke.
There's NO point to any of it.
