So my 11 year old son likes to play minecraft online. Lately our Crome has been acting up, (no craigslist, no yahoo mail and no Amazon prime videos). Could the online gaming be the source for corruption? Laptops and tablets that he doesn't use are infected. Safari works fine. My wife blames the gaming, is she crazy?

It's probably porn. Have you had "the talk" with him yet?

If it is just linked to the browser, unlikely it Minecraft, especially if a legit version of it. I take it you ran Avast and MalwareBytes already? Chrome in general have had slowdowns and what not over the last year (Firefox beating it once again, didn't expect that).
First I would double check your computers Date/Time, and make sure it is correct and updating correctly (check the time hour/min, date day/year/month). Also with Avast (and other anti-virus software have the same thing but different name) you can turn off Webshield, sometimes that will create connection issues. Make sure it is updating correctly. Then I would run Avast and MalwareBytes, then flush your DNS after that.
