Meh. Ronda fired the 1st shot & Cyborg has to go down to 135? Nuh-uh. If she is going to be butthurt about something it should be Ronda making more off of 1 or 2 fights than Borg has made in her career. She needs to make weight or move on to women who are interested in fighting in weight classes that don't exist.

This isn't like a HW and a lightweight. I'm not going into whether she can make it or not, I have no doubt. If Cyborg was dedicated to making 135 it's possible IMO.

Have you competed before where you have to cut weight? It's fucking miserable & it was just BJJ, I wasn't even cutting some insane amount. I know Cyborg could afford to lose some muscle to make weight but why would she? She knows better her performance than me. And by principle alone, you don't call out a heavier opponent only to make stipulations.

I think Cyborg knows that Dana and Ronda can't go anywhere without people asking them about the fight. She knows the fans want to see the fight. So she is just keeping it out there. She is trying to get the money fight. You can't blame her for going for the money fight.

I looked up what Cyborg said
Cris “Cyborg” Justino really wants to fight Ronda Rousey. She’s just not sure Rousey will step into the octagon with her anytime soon.
“Same way you talk to guys, you have to have the balls,” Cyborg recently told TMZ Sports. “OK, she speaks a lot of things about me, and why she don’t go in (the) octagon with me, fight with me? Man, she don’t have (the balls). She don’t have. She don’t have. “And I know — girls, of course she don’t have (balls). But when you speak about someone, you have to go, ‘No, (f—) that. I’m gonna fight her. Let’s go in the octagon, make this fight happen. You have to do this. Man, this is her job.”
Rousey is scheduled to fight Amanda Nunes for the UFC women’s bantamweight title at UFC 207 on Dec. 30 in her first fight since losing the belt to Holly Holm last November. If Rousey wins, perhaps it’ll set the stage for a much-anticipated superfight with Cyborg, who’s been dominating the mixed martial arts scene, even winning her first two UFC fights since signing with the promotion in March 2015.
“Of course. She knows I would kill her,” Cyborg told TMZ Sports when asked if Rousey is afraid to fight her. “Same thing that happened with Holly Holm and her will be worse with me. She knows this. She knows this.
“She don’t fight for the belt (the) first time,” Cyborg added. “They gave to her the belt and she’s fighting in the UFC, the big promotion, and they make her. She’s an American girl, she’s pretty … she’s good for sales, and they make her. You cannot change this, but you cannot tell me she’s the best when she don’t fight me.”
So, what’s Cyborg’s message to Rousey?
“Ronda, say my name. Say my name, you make this fight happen.”

Cyborg is a tough, skilled fighter. By conducting herself this way, however, she seems to be tying her relevance in MMA to that of Ronda. I'm tired of hearing her talk or seeing her post about Ronda. She comes off like a pouty child. She should focus this energy on pushing for a 145lb division.

I don't think it's as deep as 135 or 115, or even a possible 125, but why not see what's out there? Surely there are some 135'rs who might just prefer not to make the cut, plus some fighters who are more natural 145rs.

If they make a 145, they'll get a flood of fighters. Look at the amount of people that fought in the Toughwoman tournaments! I think the upper weight-class for women's MMA will probably be around 165 or 175.

The only people that give a fuck about Cyborg's complaints are bobo, daywork and the LBGT community. Cyborg claimed in 2014 she would make 135 so all her yapping is just means to stay relevant. The only person stopping this fight from happening is Cyborg/

Let me AX you something. Are you tired of the media always asking Ronda (when she isn't hiding) and Dana about making this fight happen? As long as the media keeps asking about it, Cyborg is going to say shit to try and make it happen at 140.
There is bad blood between the two. Cyborg isn't trying to take the belt, she doesn't want to stay at 135. She just wants a fight with Ronda. Ever since the days in Strikeforce. And back in 2014 when she said she would make 135, Dana then came back and said. "Make 135 for a couple of fights and we'll talk about setting up a fight". Dana doesn't want that fight to happen as much as you and Sporty don't want it to happen LOL.

Yes, I am. I do want it to happen but at 135. If Cyborg can beat Ronda or anyone at 135, we have a bunch of cool fights to see. Until she gets on that scale at 135 I am not interested in hearing her run her mouth and especially when she fights tomato can after tomato can.

cyborg is never making 135, she is a monster at 145, by far the biggest woman at that weight, and getting down to 140 is horrible for her. with ronda not having the belt anymore, there is 0 reason for cyborg to even try, the only way the fight happens is at 140. its scary how ripped she was for the 140 pound fights, women should not be getting that low in bodyfat.
i was getting onto cyborg's side in this, but she is getting annoying now, ronda took a year off and is fighting for the 135 pound title against a very dangerous opponent who in someways is a little like a smaller version of cyborg. i hate ronda as a person, but she definitely deserved a title shot right away after all she did for women's mma. if she can't beat nunes, who is fantastic offensively but has questionable stamina and toughness, she would have little chance against cyborg who is also tough as hell with 0 quit in her. this is a perfect fight to prepare for cyborg.
cyborg was becoming the "good one" in the arguments lately, but this stuff won't help. she should be saying stuff like she is happy that ronda is coming back, wished her luck in the amanda fight and looks forward to fighting her next year.

Right, she is bigger than Aldo but she is still professional enough to stay off of the sauce long enough to make weight. Cyborg is a can crushing joke until she makes weight and fights top-tier competition for a change. And I'm not talking about some irrelevant 135er who was lured up 5 lbs by promise of her best payday just so they claim Cyroid has a win over a legit UFC fighter. Please spare me the, "Oh she hasn't failed a PED test since the 1st Gulf War!" Hell, RDS hadn't failed one either but any fool can tell that his title run physique didn't just come from hard work at his age and record at that point in his career.

Now that she isn't willing to put in the effort Ronda is now the one obligated to move up to a weightclass that doesn't exist for a fight that isn't even for for a belt.

No it wasn't set if she made 135. Dana said she had to make 135 a few times then he would see about setting it up. Anything could've happened during those few times. She could've lost, Ronda could've lost.
Cyborg is trying to meet her in the middle. They are both champs (Ronda of course being the much larger name). There was a lot of shit talk between the two. Buy only Cyborg is the one that did anything to try and make the fight happen. yes going down 5 lbs is something.
I wish Cyborg would just go all out and cut the weight. Maybe if Dana said the fight would be a definite, Cyborg might try harder. But as of now, he won't make it a sure thing. Dana has no problems with his biggest fighter (Conor) jumping around weights fighting non title fights (nate). But he seems to have a problem with it for Ronda.
I really don't think this fight will ever happen. I really wish it would, but the odds are against it. If Ronda loses in Dec that will probably be it for her and if she wins. Dana won't give Cyborg a shot at the 135 title knowing if she wins she won't defend it cause she won't stay at 135.
But until then. I'll keep bitching about the fight and putting all blame on Ronda. lol

We know Daywork, Borg is Mother Teresa and Ronda is the devil. I don't think Dana wanted Conor jumping around as much as Conor told Dana what he was going to do and Dana wasn't in a position to risk pissing off his only big time PPV draw after Ronda left.

Starting a weight class for someone who isn't a big draw is a bad move financially. It would be like adding a weightclass of prelim on FB fighters. The chances of another woman emerging who could be a huge draw like Ronda are very unlikely.
The smart move seems to be the step the UFC is taking. Don't build a weightclass around a fighter who looks like a female Tong Po.
