Call me crazy, but I think McDaniels is the "Belichick coaching tree" guy that finally catches on as HC somewhere. He was young and brash in Denver. I think he's learned from Belichick more than probably any other coordinator has. Belichick himself failed the first time in Cleveland, not a ton unlike McDaniels did. Both found SOME success early. Neither were terrible in their first gig. Josh just thought it was a good idea to draft a baseball player/SEC announcer with the 25th pick in the draft.
When the Jags fire Gus Bradley (I'm guessing after the London game next weeK), I wouldn't mind having McDaniels as head coach. I know, call me crazy. And yes, I would assume Greg Olsen or Doug Marrone will get a chance as interim HC for the rest of the season.
The tougher part will probably be convincing McDaniels to come to this dumpster fire.

Edelman can play QB was actually a legit QB in college I don't think he would be that bad and could get by for one game till Brady is back.

Plus I'm pretty sure Jimmy G will be in there next weekend, anyway. He might have suited up this week, to at least be the back up, if not for it being a Thursday Night game

Everyone knows what a fan I am of the Patriots, but I do have to say...
3-0 with 2nd and 3rd string QB against some tough competition is a huge feather in Darth Bill's cap. If there was ever going to be a "revenge tour" the way things have started out this year for New England this would be it.
AFC is MUCH stronger than the NFC by the way - Seattle isn't what they used to be, Arizona is good until prime time games happen and then Carson folds his tent up, and Minnesota is only going to be able to rely on that D for so long before they have to put points on the board.
So this year will be an AFC champion and basically that is a 3 way race between the Patriots, Broncos, and Steelers. I'm thinking whoever of those 3 stays the healthiest gets another ring.
Whoever goes....just make sure we get to see another repeat of Cam's crybaby performance from the post game presser last year. Comedy gold right there...

Does it matter who the Pats have at QB? It's not like they'll have any issues manhandling the Bills. Jimmy G has 10 days to get back to full strength and he probably will.
On a related note, if I'm Garappolo, and I don't feel 100%, I don't risk anything at this point. He's played well enough already to earn a nice little contract next year.

Not ironic that Bill also gave Tebow a chance. McDaniels is definitely a student and product of Bilichick and will have success for a very long time in the NFL. Can't put a price on what he leaned in Denver, then he went back to NE, humbled, and will be better because of it. Still not sure how he'll fair as a head coach again, but I wouldn't question anyone giving him a go. Still seems a little bratty, kind of the silver spoon syndrome, but again, what he learned in Denver was invaluable.

AC joint isn't one of those "you can make it worse" injuries. It's more of a pain management thing. So if he doesn't play next week, his lasting impression will be one and a half good games, with a chance of being injury prone and possibly a lack of toughness. In other words, it's in his own best interest to get out there and perform next week

None of the games stand out for me today. It was really hard to bet this week.
I screwed up on one of my parlays. I guess I clicked on the Rams instead of the Buccs. I didn't notice it until this morning. Oh well, maybe I'll get lucky

I don't like any of the games today, which is why I haven't made a survivor pick yet. Waited too long, now I got to pick from the late games dammit.

Every season there's at least a few teams who were in the playoffs the previous year and feel like a lock to make it again, but end up falling on their faces. So far one of those clearly seems to be the Arizona Cardinals
Bills are kicking their dicks up and down the field right now. I know we have like 50 Buffalo fans here, so good for you guys. Finally something to cheer about this season

To anyone here who is a fan of the Titans, Jaguars or Browns.........I'm sorry
MAN, that has to be frustrating knowing that no matter how close the game is, they will not pull it off. They will fuck themselves with dumb penalties, turnovers, missed field goals, or just inexplicably dumb plays and decisions....EVERY TIME. It just feels etched in stone

It was actually a lot easier when we KNEW the team was terrible. This year we were expected to win some games, but Bortles has regressed a TON. And I'm all for giving coaches way more time than most teams do, but Gus is proving to not be the right guy. This isn't 1980. You don't take the talent and make it fit "your scheme." The best coaches take a look at their talent, and make the scheme fit the talent. Gus is obsessed with this whole "LEO package", and we just don't have the guys to run it. Hey Gus, it's time to blitz. We simply don't have a 4 man front that can get to the QB. And we haven't for the FOUR FUCKING YEARS that you have been here! Our offense can't run the ball. So stop running every first and second down and leaving our offense with 3rd and 9....over and over again.
He's going to get fired after the Indy game next week, I have no doubt. But there isn't much that can be done with Bortles. He's got the rest of the year to get his shit together. He's not seeing the field, and he hasn't grown. He makes the same mistakes every week that he made as a rookie. Zero progresion. There IS talent here now, whereas there wasn't a year or two ago. But the captain sucks, and his first mate isn't doing his job either. So frustrating.
Coaching is SO important. Look at Minnesota. They finally got the right guy, and despite losing their best tackle, best QB, and Adrian freakin' Peterson and they still managed to win. Of course you can look at New England too. Blount is looking like a goddamn MVP candidate right now.

Finally something to cheer about this season The defense really set the tone in the first 1.5 quarters and the offense looked inspired. With that said, if you're a real Bills fan, you know not to get too excited. Daunting task next week. As for the other games, how about that Carson Wentz?? 70% completions, like 7 receivers with 2+ receptions, 300 yards. This guy has been pretty legit so far, and their defense is pretty nasty. The dark horse of the NFC... the Eagles? Who saw that coming?

add the Chargers to the list of sure to disappoint. We always lead in the 4th and always lose. Always fuck ourselves, too. Get an xpoint blocked? That's the Chargers. Jacksonville does also like to fuck themselves and totally did today. When you always give up late leads, something the coaches of both Jacksonville and San Diego ALWAYS do, you have to change leadership. I wish the Chargers would fire McCoy tomorrow and shoot the special teams coach (he's new and also sucks as bad as the last) but they won't. McCoy is one of the least expensive coaches in the NFL and that's all the matters to the Spanos family.
Fucking sucks.

I watched that Indy game and have to agree. San Diego should have blown that team out. Bad coaching all over the place. I never thought McCoy was the right guy to begin with. Rivers has a couple of good years left, I'd hope they pull the trigger soon and give him one last shot with a good HC.

Normally i watch the bills every week while I'm at work but I took off yesterday to take my kids to a wwe show and I miss their best performance in over a year. I'm not even mad that I bet on the cards. What a nice win.
The fucking chargers cost me $$ yesterday.

The Goddamned Lions screwed me AGAIN. I took the Packers at -7 1/2; the Lions fell behind by 28 in the FIRST HALF. No way I could lose, right? Wrong. The Packers took the entire second half off, and the Lions made it look "close." It wasn't. Close enough for me to lose, though.

Yeah I like the Raiders over the Jets for a wild card spot. Raiders are young and promising. The Jets are grizzled vets but don't think Fitz has enough magic to do it.

Good news for all you Bills fans.....I have a really bad feeling about today's game
Things have been going a little too well for the Bradyless Pats so far. And I have one of those weird any given sunday vibes coming on. Plus the first game against New England is always the Bills superbowl. So they'll be geeked out of their minds today
We'll see, but yeah. won't be at all surprised to see Brissette get overwhelmed and a lot of things go Buffalo's way today
