Well, i got off very lucky stopping Kongo vs. Bader, for an accidental eye poke, (San Jose crowds are relatively mellow)
compared with what just happened in Mexico City. Note to self: do not work a fight south of the border

Gary- Do they inspect fighters fingernails before the fight to make sure they are trimmed nice and close?
Last nights poke didn't look like much on the replay, but you could tell he wasn't faking it. I thought Herb did a good job too try and buy some time...
Yeah those Mexicans wasted a lot of beer! I wonder how many people got hurt?

The fingernails are inspected back stage by inspectors when the hands are wrapped, and the refs often double check them as well. When the cornea is scratched, 5 minutes does not really help. it is painful and you can't see,
so nothing really to do, other than stop the fight.

Yeah I scratched mine badly once, I couldn't really open my eye for almost an hour. It took two full weeks with a contact lens to heal, and I still have a blurry spot.
