Tough sledding in dah Burgh.
Have you guys heard if Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are any good this year? Read in another thread that they were falling apart and imploding in early summer or something?

That Chiefs defense isn't getting them past the Pats.

That Chiefs defense isn't getting them past the Pats. We'll see about all that come December and then hopefully in January.

I hope Fitzpatrick is worth it, your Steelers most likely just gave up a top 5 pick for him....
Also, anyone see the story about Gardner Menshew trying to break his own hand with a hammer to salvage his redshirt season? Dude is fucking insane, but just the kind of distraction we needed here in Jax to take our minds off Coughlin fucking up the team from the front office for the 2nd time in 20 years. Great coach, terrible executive.

What's the word in Jacksonville on Ramsey? I don't think the Chiefs are really in on getting him, but it's still setting up to be drama. Is he going to be "sick" until they trade him?

My Bills are 3-0 baby! Josh Allen is starting to put it together but still is prone to big mistakes. We have only beat the Jets, Giants, and Bengals, so the Pats this week will be a huge test.
Bills 63 - Pats -3

We really don't have the cap space to give him a new deal until after the season, so even if we want to keep him, our hands are basically tied. As for what he'll do, he seems to be torn. In that I mean he's a super-competitive guy and he does like his team mates. But I think he's had enough of Coughlin that he'll probably just sit out at this point. From what I'm hearing around here, he really IS sick. But who knows, that's some odd timing. And it's a bit early for flu season.
Either way, if one more dumbass Jags fan tries to compare him to AB, I'll punch 'em in the face. This is an annoyance no doubt, but Ramsey has a legit gripe. I still wish he'd play as a fan, but from a business standpoint I think he's doing the right thing.
Chiefs could really use him, btw. He's as good as advertised.

Bills 63 - Pats -3 I think the Bills will clip the Pats in one of their two matchups this year. That defense is good enough to beat anybody. They've got injuries, this might be the week to get it done.

For the first time in a long while, Iβm positive about the Bills. I think we have a great coach, legit D, and finally, fingers crossed, a decent QB.
Allen has a ways to go, but Iβm seeing progression this season that I wasnβt expecting. He can actually make throws from the pocket, which I wasnβt sure he could do.
Iβd bite your hand off for a split with the Pats.

I was really hard on Allen coming out of college, but he's clearly the #2 QB to come out of last year's draft class for now (behind Jackson of course.) Mayfield is regressing, Rosen is going to be right up there with Jamarcus and Leaf, and Darnold and Randolph need a bigger sample size. Heck, going back a couple of years ago and Trubisky is looking like a dumpster fire too.

Has anyone actually seen anything out of Mayfield that makes you think he's going to be good? Not serviceable, because I think he's shown that he can be serviceable in glimpses. But I have seen nothing out of him in the NFL that makes me think he can be legitimately good.

He had some games and some moments last year. Fred Kitchens game management was extremely wonky. Mayfield looks like he's not only bailing out of the pocket instantaneously at times, but he's also bailing out in the wrong direction. A little bit of that is trust in the OL and trust in the playcall. I think both can improve, so he could end up reaching a higher level more consistently.
I'm just some guy though. What do I know... other than WTF Fred Kitchens. It's not only that he didn't run at all from 5 yards out with 3 TO's; he also emptied the backfield giving the defense a heads up.

I could see the Patriots giving him a chance once he can't do anything in Miami.

He was bailing out on the pocket unnecessarily in college, but it worked because he was a better athlete than most college players. It looks to me like it's more habit than trust in o-line. Mahomes does the same thing, he bails when he doesn't necessarily need to. But the difference is mahomes has the talent and ability to make that a +EV move a lot of the time. Baker does not. He throws up terrible balls that have zero chance of being caught, unless by the other team. I just have never seen the actual ability to think he's going to be this great QB. I think he can be a perennial #20-10 guy, but that's about his absolute ceiling to me. I think there's just as good of a chance that he's a backup in 3 years. But that all comes with the same caveat as you mentioned. I don't know dick. I just watch Patty Mahomes every week, so analyzing other QBs seems like an exercise in futility a lot.

And obviously Freddie is no play calling wizard, but still. It comes down to the Jimmy's and Joe's more than the Xs and Os to me.

I was stunned when Mayfield was drafted first overall....just like I was equally stunned that Arizona took Murray first overall this year. A pass happy QB in a conference that plays dick for defense does not make a good pro QB.
That being said, I'm having fun watching mustache Minshew every week and he was a pass happy QB in a conference that plays dick for defense. But he was also rightly drafted in the 6th round, not first overall.

The Bills put up a decent fights against the Pats. Or at least our defense did. Allen made costly mistakes that he needs to learn from.
We have the Titans, Dolphins and Eagles for our next three games. Both the Titans and Eagles have been inconsistent, but looked good this week. If we can get 2 out of 3 wins Iβll be happy.
